BikeMi is Milan's new Bike Sharing easy, practical and ecological service. Designed to promote user mobility, BikeMi is not just a simple bike rental service but a real public bicycle transport system to be used for short trips supplemented by ATM traditional transport vehicles.
This only the beginning of a big project that will see BikeMi stations located in strategic points all over the city, starting downtown: train stations and universities, hospitals and tourist attractions, underground stations, administrative offices, malls and parking lots. This will allow all registered users to pick up a bike, ride it and leave it at the station closest to their destination.

How it works
JOIN BIKEMI, IT’S EASY AS RIDING A BIKE:
1. Choose one of the available subscriptions, annual, weekly or daily, and register on-line, at ATM Points or via wap.
2. If you register weekly or daily, you'll receive a user code, along with your password, via e-mail (registration on web) or via sms (registration on wap) that you can immediately use to borrow a bike. Please remember that these codes are active as soon as you receive them via sms or via e-mail.
If you register annually, you will receive your card within about 15 days.
3. Activate your card on-line, at ATM Points or calling ATM toll-free number.
4. Go to a BikeMi station.
5. Pick up your bike: at any BikeMi station you will find a service machine. Place your card next to the totem reader (annual subscriptions) or enter your user code and password (temporary subscriptions) and follow the instructions on the screen. The totem will display the number of the bike you can take. Lift the bike off the slot and you’re ready to ride.
6. Returning the bike to the station closest to your destination. Put the bike on a free slot space. Wait until the bike is correctly locked in place: wait until the light turns stable green. Never leave it on the street.
Do not forget to keep your subscription on you at all times!
REMEMBER:
You can always pick up any bike that is free for the first half hour of use at a time.
• The first 30 minutes are free.
• After the first 30 minutes you will pay € 0.50 for every subsequent half hour or fraction of half hour for a maximum of two hours.
• Remember that the bike cannot be used for more than two hours*. After the two hour limit, you will be charged a € 2 penalty per hour or fraction of hour. Service is automatically suspended if you exceed this time limit three times. In this case, you can’t reactivate your card but you must subscribe again.
• At least 10 minutes must elapse between the first and second use.
* trip means the bicycle rout from the starting station to the destination station regardless of whether or not it is the same station.
